Career Summary:
Tamara Osseily earned a Master’s degree in Energetics & Propulsion from École Centrale de Nantes, France (2023–2024), graduating Magna Cum Laude with a thesis conducted at ArcelorMittal R&D, where she developed CFD-based magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) models for electric arc furnaces in steel production.
In 2024, she began a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium, focusing on advanced combustion modelling, particularly Partially Stirred Reactor (PaSR) models for oxy-fuel combustion and hydrogen–natural gas blends, integrating machine learning techniques for turbulence–chemistry interaction predictions. She is currently a Doctoral Researcher at ULB, contributing to the EU H2AL project aimed at decarbonising the aluminum sector.
Her industry experience includes:
- ArcelorMittal R&D (2024) – Development of MHD models for electric arc furnace optimisation
- Middle East Airlines (2023) – HVAC systems engineering internship
- MOST Manufacturing (2022) – Welding and manufacturing process engineering internship
Main Research Topics:
- Advanced combustion modelling
- Industrial decarbonisation
- Turbulence-chemistry interactions
- Machine learning in combustion
Involvement in Projects:
Involvement in Other Activities:
- Poster presentation at 12th European Combustion Meeting, Edinburgh
