Career Summary:
Dimitri Hanssens holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences with a specialisation in Energy from the Université libre de Bruxelles and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (ULB & VUB, 2025). His Master’s thesis focused on modelling cooling demand in the Brussels-Capital Region, in collaboration with Brussels Environment. He is now starting a PhD within the SWIFFT collective, funded by the HELIOS Foundation, working on grey-box explanatory and predictive modelling of urban heating and cooling demand to support smart grid development.
