Career Summary:
Yuki Murakami received his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Tohoku University, Japan, in March 2022. He investigated the reactivity and combustion behaviour of various low-/zero-carbon fuel blends.
During his Ph.D., Yuki Murakami visited Princeton University, USA, as a visiting student to work on research about cool flame dynamics and low-temperature chemistry.
After his Ph.D./postdoc in Japan, he joined the University of Galway, Ireland, as a postdoc, focusing on the development of detailed chemical kinetic mechanisms.
His current project at ULB is on the optimisation/reduction of chemical kinetic mechanisms. The primary goal of my project is to establish the optimisation/reduction methodology to obtain robust and efficient chemical kinetic mechanisms for various combustion applications.
Main Research Topics:
- Chemical kinetics
- Mechanism optimisation
- Mechanism reduction
