Career Summary:
Tommaso Baffetti obtained his M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering (Space track) from Politecnico di Torino in 2025. He spent an Erasmus year (2023–2024) at RWTH Aachen University, where he conducted his Master’s thesis at the Institut für Technische Verbrennung (ITV) on machine-learning modelling of intrinsic instabilities in laminar hydrogen flames.
During his Master’s studies, he completed a curricular internship as a Propulsion Systems Engineer at Thales Alenia Space.
Since October 2025, he has been an MSCA Doctoral Fellow within the DT-HATS project, focusing on data-driven reduced-order models (ROMs) and simulations for direct-injection hydrogen engines, with the goal of developing digital twins and optimal design methodologies.
