Career Summary:
Yagiz Yalcinkaya obtained a B.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering in 2021 and an M.Sc. in Defence Technologies in 2023, both from Istanbul Technical University. His Master’s thesis explored bluff-body stabilised premixed flames, with a focus on flame stabilisation and flame-vortex interaction under pressure gradients.
Yagiz Yalcinkaya began his Ph.D. in 2024 at the Aero-Thermo-Mechanics Department of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Université Libre de Bruxelles. His research focuses on data-driven modelling of turbulent reacting flows, with a particular emphasis on turbulence–chemistry interactions. He is also affiliated with WEL Research Institute.
Involvement in Projects:
Main Research Topics:
- Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
- Turbulence-chemistry interaction
- Combustion modelling
