Career Summary:
Vittorio Piro obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering and Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. He completed a Master-after-Master in Fluid Dynamics at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics in 2025, where his project focused on the robust calibration of an air–carbon ablation model employing Plasmatron and molecular beam data. He also completed an internship at Inria (École Polytechnique).
Main Research Interests:
- Uncertainty Quantification techniques applied to increase hypersonic numerical models' predictivity and reconstruct important flow and TPM properties.
- Surrogate models
- Bayesian inference
